Youth radicalization in Europe: A discussion with award-winning author Åsne Seierstad

Why do young Europeans radicalise? How to deal with this phenomenon of radicalisation? What is the role of their family? Through the story of two young Norwegian girls who radicalized and decided to join Syria in 2013, Åsne Seierstad addresses one of the most pressing challenges of our times. The gripping, heartbreaking story she tells about the Juma family echoes similar situations across Europe, and beyond. Using this story as an entry point, our event will discuss more broadly the challenge of radicalisation in Europe, and which responses can be developed.
