Towards a new Energy Policy for Europe
Concept
Over the last decade, energy issues have increasingly started to dominate the European agenda, resulting in, among others, the March 2006 Green Paper on developing a common coherent European Energy Policy and a Second Strategic Energy Review in July 2009. Indeed, given the multi-faceted nature of today’s energy policy challenges touching upon issues of foreign policy, environmental commitments, security of supply, competition and investment, etc., a comprehensive approach was deemed indispensible. The Energy Project will therefore study the key facets of such a new European Energy Policy by examining specific themes: European Energy Internal Market, Geopolitics of Energy, Commercial & Regulatory Aspects, and Energy Efficiency & Renewables.
