Research Programme Political and security developments in Eastern DRC

Concept

The research analyses the regional and national dynamics which have an impact on the political and security situation in Eastern DRC. The protracted crisis in the Kivus continues to constitute an important obstacle on the wider peace process in the DRC. The research agenda also aims at assessing the DDR process, the role of the international community – in a view to propose ways to improve its commitment – as well as the remaining local tensions.
