Biography

Alexandra Vanreusel joined the Egmont Institute in April 2023 to work in the European Affairs programme as a Junior Researcher. Her research interests include the nexus between migration and development.

Prior to this, she was a campaigner at Oxfam Belgium, where she organized trainings, conferences and meetings with decision makers to amplify the voices of EU youth and of those who are most affected by climate change in EU climate policy.

She holds a Master of Arts in History from the Catholic University of Leuven and a Master in Conflict and Development Studies from the University of Ghent. In the context of her studies, she conducted field research in India to study the effects of internal migration on autonomy and independence movements in the northeast of India.
