Biography

Poy served as a diplomat for Thailand from 2005-2022, including at the Permanent mission of Thailand to the UN in New York (2009-2013) and to the Royal Thai Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya (2017-2020). Her past experience covers a range of issues including peacekeeping, conflict management, human rights, UN sanctions, environment as well as country-specific issues such as Somalia, South Sudan, DPRK and Myanmar. She completed a Bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences and Economics (2003) from the University of Toronto, Canada, and afterwards a Master’s degree in International Relations (2005) from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University, USA.

Poy joined the Egmont Institute in October 2022 as a Project Advisor for the Education & Training Programme team.
