Bringing together contributions from Egmont and the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the report “The EU Global Strategy: Implications for Russia” addresses key bilateral issues, such as resilience in the shared neighbourhood, EU-EAEU compatibility, and energy security. The report questions the possibility of selective engagement between Russia and the EU in the presence of major crisis and conflicts of interest. Still, it states that the EU’s shift to “principled pragmatism” may create the impetus for relaunching the political dialogue with Russia.
