Mark Boekwijt, Amsterdam’s EU Representative and Chair of the Partnership, and Angélique Petrits, Coordinator of the Partnership at DG HOME, European Commission, gathered to give a detailed presentation of the Urban Agenda Partnership on Inclusion of Migration and Refugees. This unique multilevel framework started in 2016 and aims to address the challenges of integration, to better align policy development, knowledge exchange and implementation of policies in this field. It currently implements a two-year action plan with four priority areas: inclusion and the role of disinformation, education, employment and funding.
The discussion was enriched by the presence of a delegation of Mauritanian experts, working closely with Enabel on a project for the inclusion of displaced persons in Mauritania.
This exchange of views allowed the participants to learn about best practices and lessons learned both in European and African contexts.
