João Oliveira

Biography

João Oliveira joined the Egmont Institute in February 2026 as an intern in the Communications and Events Department. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Multilingual Communication: Cross-Cultural Communication Management at KU Leuven, Campus Brussels. His academic interests focus on multilingual and intercultural communication strategies within international and institutional contexts.

João holds a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages and Cultures from the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. His studies specialised in English and Spanish and developed his interest in translation, cross-cultural communication, and international collaboration.

Alongside his studies, João has been working as a Translator at Liga Portugal since 2022, contributing to multilingual communication and international content production. He has also supported big events such as the Thinking Football Summit, where he assisted with translation, subtitling, and coordination of interpreting teams.
