27 June – 1 July 2016. The Egmont Institute has been organising an introduction week, in French, for 19 African diplomats recently posted to Brussels. The objective was to provide an introduction into Belgium and its political, economic and cultural institutions which play a central role on not only the national but also the international diplomatic landscape. A particular emphasis was given to the external policies of Belgium which have a strong focus on the African continent.
