6–10 Oct 2025: Introductory Course to Belgium for Newly Arrived Diplomats (Training)

From 6 to 10 October 2025, the Egmont – Royal Institute for International Relations organised its annual Introductory Course to Belgium for Newly Arrived Diplomats, at the initiative of H.E. Mr. Maxime Prévot, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation.

Over the course of five days, thirty diplomats recently accredited in Brussels took part in a series of presentations and field visits offering an in-depth introduction to Belgium, its institutions, and its specificities. The programme also provided valuable opportunities for networking and informal exchanges among participants.

The week featured visits to several emblematic sites, including the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, the Antwerp World Diamond Centre, the Belgian Federal Parliament, Belvas Organic & Fairtrade Chocolates, and GSK. These visits complemented the seminars and discussions, illustrating Belgium’s institutional, economic, and cultural diversity.

The Egmont Institute warmly thanks all partners for their contribution to the success of this new edition.
