The Egmont Institute is pleased to invite you to the 11th session of the Deterrence and Arms Control Conversations with Eirini Lemos-Maniati, Head of Arms Control, Disarmament & WMD Non-Proliferation at NATO.

In her capacity as one of NATO’s leading experts on arms control and non-proliferation policy, Ms Lemos-Maniati will discuss NATO’s expectations for the 2026 NPT Review Conference. As the international environment becomes increasingly complex and the global non-proliferation regime faces mounting challenges, NATO’s role in supporting the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons remains central to allied security and to global strategic stability.

This session will examine the key issues shaping NATO’s approach to the upcoming Review Conference, including the Alliance’s priorities for strengthening the NPT, maintaining deterrence while advancing arms control, and navigating an evolving geopolitical landscape marked by new nuclear risks and persistent compliance concerns. These questions are at the heart of current debates on the future of the global nuclear order.

Participants are encouraged to actively engage in the in-person conversation, which will take place under Chatham House Rule.

This is an in-person event.
