In this seminar, Lt General Karl Eikenberry, former US Ambassador to Afghanistan and former Commander of Combined Forces Command – ISAF, will discuss the findings of a new and timely report from the United States Institute of Peace on “Elite Capture and Corruption of Security Sectors”. The report explores how elite manipulation of security sectors for personal, political, or financial gains can fuel violence in conflict affected environments and includes a comprehensive list of recommendations to improve the effectiveness of security assistance in such environments.
