As Return Coordinator, Mari Juritsch is responsible for establishing a coherent and effective European return policy. The function of Return Coordinator was created under the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, it is supported by a network of High Level Member States’ representatives and the Frontex. Together, the Coordinator and the Network will define an operational strategy on returns, which will identify practical priority activities for increasing the mutual coherence of national and EU actions and practices, further developing national policy and frameworks – including better links between asylum and return procedures– removing the barriers hampering returns, reinforcing national capacities, and improving cooperation between Member States and with Frontex.
