As conflicts in the Middle East continue to evolve, their impact extends far beyond the region, influencing global security, economic stability, and humanitarian efforts. Addressing these challenges requires a concerted effort from policymakers, international organizations, and experts in conflict resolution. This high-level discussion will bring together key stakeholders from the EU, UN, and leading think tanks to explore viable strategies for mitigating conflict, enhancing cooperation, and fostering sustainable peace and development.

Following his recent visits to Gaza, Israel, the West Bank, Syria, and Lebanon, UNOPS Executive Director Jorge Moreira da Silva will offer a first-hand account of the evolving crisis landscape. He will discuss the humanitarian implications of the Gaza ceasefire, as well as emerging opportunities in Syria to support reconstruction and long-term stability. Given his extensive experience and UNOPS’ active role in fragile and conflict-affected settings, his insights will contribute to a deeper understanding of how international actors can effectively respond to these pressing challenges.
