Assistant Secretary-General Michèle Coninsx, Executive Director of the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) will discuss the UN’s role in counter-terrorism, and current terrorism and counter-terrorism trends, including foreign terrorist fighters and the management of violent extremism prisoners.

 

Baronnes Michèle Coninsx was appointed Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate (CTED) in August 2017. She joined Eurojust in 2001, to become the President of the EU agency, and the Chair of Eurojust’s Counter Terrorism Team. Before, she served as a National Prosecutor in Belgium.
