25 Mar – 22 Jun 2019: Professional internships for 10 students from the ENA DR Congo

For the fourth consecutive year, the Egmont Institute welcomed 10 students from the National Administrative School (Ecole Nationale d’Administration – ENA) of the Democratic Republic of Congo for professional internships in Belgium, from March 25th to June 22nd, 2019.

These internships are one of the pillars of the partnership between Belgium and the ENA DRC and have been organised since 2016 with the financial support of the Belgian Development Agency Enabel.

The 10 students, two of which are fully taken care of and financed by Wallonia Brussels International, have been assigned to five different public administrations in Belgium: Wallonia Brussels International (WBI) and the Federation of Wallonia-Brussels (FWB), the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Pensions, the Ministry of Policy and Support (BOSA), and the National Railway Company of Belgium (SNCB).

As part of their training to become the future administrative elite of Congo, the students are confronted to new professional environments and witness first-hand the functioning of Belgian administrations. This exchange of cultural and professional practices constitutes a unique learning experience for both countries.
