Biography

Yves Berteau is currently Head of Unit within the Personnel & Organisation Direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), and has spent his entire career in the Belgian public sector. As well as serving as a Belgian diplomat at the Embassy of Belgium in Belgrade for a year, he has worked for the following Belgian public institutions:

  • The Belgian Parliament, as a Political adviser accredited to the Permanent Commission of Internal Affairs and the Permanent Commission of Foreign Affairs and Defence;
  • The National Social Security Office, as Head of Unit in the Department of Control and Inspection;
  • The Belgian Federal Public Service of Mobility and Transports, as a Head of various units and as a strategic adviser of the Directorate General Mobility and Road Safety. He also represented Belgium in the EU Committee of Driving Licences and sat as a member of the board at the Belgian Institute for Road Safety (VIAS Institute).

 

Graduated with a Bachelors degree in Law and a Masters in Politics from the Free University of Brussels (ULB), Yves Berteau also has qualifications in Public Management (Solvay Business School, Brussels / Instituut voor de Overheid, University of Leuven – KUL) and in Coaching for public organisations.

He collaborates with the Egmont Institute since 2016 as a trainer and supervisor in Kinshasa for the National School of Administration (ENA RDC).
